Choosing to See the Good: A Hopeful Path to Healing

Healing isn’t about erasing the past—it’s about appreciating the now, and reclaiming the future. It’s about choosing, day by day, to focus on the good.

Pain has a way of demanding our attention. It whispers that we are broken, that things will never change, that we are alone. But none of those things are true. Healing happens when we gently turn our gaze away from what hurt us and toward what is still beautiful, still whole, still full of promise.

"The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit." — Psalm 34:18

Even in the hardest seasons, goodness is always present. It’s in laughter, kindness, and the quiet strength that rises in you when you least expect it. It’s in small victories—the deep breaths, each boundary you set, every moment you chose gratitude.

Focusing on the good isn't denying the pain, it's refusing to let pain have the final say. It means choosing hope, progress, and joy, even when it feels unfamiliar.

"Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?" — Isaiah 43:18-19

You are healing. You are growing. And no matter what has happened, there is still so much good ahead. Keep choosing to see it. Keep moving forward. The best chapters of your story are still being written.

Take a moment today to look for the good. It’s there, waiting for you to notice.
